Joe holds a PhD in Quantum Communications from Télécom Paristech, which he obtained in 2013 under the direction of Eleni Diamanti and Isabelle Zaquine.
After graduating Joe worked as an associate professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the Lebanese University, where he initiated quantum computing research and teaching activity.
In 2021 Joe joined Point 72 Asset Management as their Applied Quantum Computing researcher and strategist and was promoted to Core Innovation Research Lead, where he led research activities in Quantum, AI and HPC.
In 2025, Joe started his own firm Ghalbouni Consulting, helping enterprises adopt emerging technologies like quantum, AI and HPC.
Joe joined the EDHEC Quantum Institute as a Research Associate, to continue working hand by hand on research topics where quantum computing impacts the world of finance.
