Arun Padakandla is a professor at EURECOM, specializing in quantum information theory and communication systems. His research focuses on quantum information science, quantum statistics, information theory and the fundamental limits of communication over quantum channels.
He received an MSc in Electrical Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru, followed by an MSc in Mathematics and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan. He later worked at Ericsson Research and held a postdoctoral fellowship at the NSF Center for Science of Information. Before joining EURECOM in 2023, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
His current work explores multi-terminal quantum channels, quantum measurement and learning, and new theoretical methods for processing and communicating quantum information
