Quantum Impact for Business and Society
Bridging quantum science and business decision-making.
Discover our research Quantum for business
Founded in 2026 by Professor Lionel Martellini at EDHEC Business School in Nice, France, it works across research, education, business engagement and public outreach to help business leaders understand and prepare for the impact of quantum technologies.
Quantum technologies are advancing from research environments towards practical applications, with potential implications for computing, simulation, sensing, communications and cybersecurity. Their maturity and relevance vary considerably across use cases, making it essential for decision-makers to distinguish credible progress from speculation.
Some implications are already tangible. In 2024, the US National Institute of Standards and Technology finalised its first three post-quantum cryptography standards, giving organizations a concrete basis for preparing the transition from cryptographic methods that may become vulnerable to future quantum attacks.
Beyond cybersecurity, organizations need clear, evidence-based frameworks to assess emerging opportunities, manage uncertainty and determine when action is warranted. Bridging the gap between scientific progress and informed decision-making lies at the heart of the EDHEC Quantum Institute’s mission.
The Institute's work spans four connected activities.
The Institute runs three research initiatives: two sector verticals and one transversal foundation.

We analyze three distinct approaches to time of arrival (TOA) distributions for discrete quantum systems using a spin- particle in a constant magnetic field as a paradigmatic example.

A WORD FROM OUR FOUNDING DIRECTOR
At EDHEC, we hold a simple conviction: quantum is a public good, a subject far too important to remain confined to a small circle of insiders. It is no longer merely a topic of discussion among physicists or engineers; it is a new industrial revolution that will transform every industry.
